As this is a solvent-based stain, it is imperative to wear gloves, a respirator and safety goggles before handling.
Spray a small excess of nitro stain onto the surface. After a period of impregnation, remove the excess with a lint-free cloth soaked in the stain, rubbing in the direction of the wood grain. For a more even finish, you can also even out the surface with a stain brush.
Soak a sponge or lint-free cloth in stain and apply evenly in the direction of the wood grain. To remove excess stain, start by rubbing across the grain (to block pores), then rub back in along the grain to even out.
For industrial use, a calender enables fast, even application over large surfaces, while maintaining good color homogeneity.
Whichever method you use, be sure to distribute the product evenly and remove any excess to avoid overloading and ensure an even finish with no visible marks.
