BLACK ACTIVATOR is an optional brown activator designed to accentuate the depth and richness of reactive stains applied to wood. Used as a primer in the BASINTAGE RS system, it helps achieve sharper contrasts and more intense visual effects. Formulated without NMP and water-based, it combines aesthetic performance with respect for the environment.

  • Use stable floorboards (solid or multilayer with a wear layer of at least 4 mm). The wood needs to be aged mechanically to achieve an ANTICO effect: you can break the edges, wear down the planks, scratch them, scrape them the old-fashioned way, or even lightly burn them. This initial treatment will strongly influence the final finish of Black Activator.
  • Preferably use brushes or rollers from the Basin range. Coco brushes or a spray gun are also suitable. If you opt for immersion treatment, you can also prepare baths for dipping the boards in the product.
  • Shake the Black Activator can thoroughly before use to ensure homogeneity. Never mix with other ANTICO products, to avoid undesirable chemical reactions.
  • Apply Black Activator undiluted or diluted, depending on the desired effect. Apply by brush, roller or spray. Do not wipe off after application: leave to dry naturally to allow the shade to develop evenly.
  • Do not leave the can open for too long, to preserve the product's reactivity. Do not use metal objects with ANTICO 3 or Black Activator; use plastic tools instead. Finally, make sure your multi-layer parquet has at least 2.5 mm of wear layer before application.
