BASINTAGE RS is an innovative water-reactive stain solution, composed of a colorant and an activator (AT-1820). This environmentally-friendly system works by chemical reaction to create a unique aged effect on wood, highlighting grain patterns and providing an authentic aesthetic finish. Ideal for character finishes, it respects the environment thanks to its NMP-free, water-based formulation.

  • Start by stirring the BASINTAGE RS thoroughly, then add the AT-1820 activator at a ratio of 10 parts RS to 1 part AT-1820. Mix mechanically or manually until homogeneous. If necessary, add 5 to 10 % of AD-2010 diluent. Once ready, the mixture can be used for approximately 24 hours.
  • Apply the product evenly in the direction of the wood grain, on previously brushed or mechanically aged wood. This method guarantees good penetration and an even finish.
  • The true color of the shade appears after approx. 40 minutes drying time. It is important to check consumption to ensure compliance with the recommended yield, i.e. approximately 1 liter per 10 m² of finished surface.
  • After application, allow to dry for 4 hours in a controlled environment (temperature between 13 and 25°C and humidity between 50 and 70 %).
  • Finish by applying either BASINTAGE OIL or BASIFIX, depending on the primer used (BASINTAGE PRIMER 1 or 2). This fixes the color and ensures lasting protection of the wood.
