What personal data do we process and why?

We process different types of personal data. For example, we process personal details (first name, name, etc.) and contact data (address, telephone number, e-mail address). This personal data may relate to you in your capacity as a customer or supplier of our company, but also to you as a business relationship of one of our customers.

We process this data for various purposes. For example, we process your data with a view to our general and financial administration, our office management, correct service provision for our customers, acquiring new customers, recruiting new personnel, etc.

Furthermore, we also make use of cookies on our website. Please refer to our cookie statement for more information on this.

Basin ChemEco can also collect other personal data from you when you use our website. This includes, among other data, the browser type or operating program that you are using, the IP address from which you connect to our website, or the domain name of the website through which you enter or leave our website. This enables us to permanently optimise the use of our website for you and our other users. Moreover, we ensure that this data is anonymised and/or aggregated wherever possible.

The legal grounds on the basis of which we process your personal data

Article 6.1 of the Regulation stipulates the grounds on which personal data may be processed. A brief overview of the legal grounds on the basis of which we process your personal data is given below.

Because you have given us your consent

We process some personal data because you have given us your explicit and specific consent to do so. For example, you explicitly consent to the processing of the personal data that you provide us via our contact form. You can withdraw this consent at any time. If you withdraw your consent, we may no longer process the respective personal data on the basis of this consent.

In order to comply with our legal obligations

We must comply with various legal obligations, and personal data must be held for many of these obligations. In the context of our accounting obligations, for example, we register which products have been delivered to a specific customer, together with the quantity that was delivered.

In order to carry out a contract

We process the personal data that is necessary for implementing the contracts we have with, among others, our customers, our suppliers and our personnel. For the correct delivery of our products, for example, we store the address to which the delivery should take place.

Because we have a legitimate interest

We process some personal data because it is necessary in order to protect our interests. We only process data on the basis of this legal ground, however, if our legitimate interest outweighs the privacy right of the person concerned. For example, we keep certain personal details in order to maintain our relationships with suppliers and for reasons of customer management.

Who has access to your personal data?

Your personal data is only processed by a limited number of people. Only employees of Basin ChemEco or some affiliated self-employed persons have access to your data.

In addition, we collaborate with a few service providers who may process your data to a limited extent. We always take the necessary measures to ensure that these service providers only process your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Statement and according to our predefined purposes and methods. Moreover, we only work together with suppliers who comply with the requirements of the Regulation.

Your personal data will never be passed on to third parties for any other reason.

How long do we retain your personal data?

We do not retain your personal data for longer than necessary, unless we have your explicit consent to retain certain data for a longer period. Moreover, we only retain your personal data for as long as required to comply with our legal obligations or in order to provide our services correctly, or because we have a legitimate interest in retaining this personal data.

What rights do you have with regard to the processing of your personal data?

You have various rights when it comes to the processing of your personal data. If we ask you for your consent for a processing operation, you can withdraw this consent again at any time.

If you want to exercise one of the rights outlined below, please contact us at the following e-mail address: lleenknecht@basin.be. We will always try to respond to your request, and will deal with it, if possible, within one month following the receipt of that request. In order to respond accurately to your request, we would ask you to be as specific as possible when submitting your request. In addition, we should be able to verify the identity of the person making the request, and would therefore ask you to kindly enclose a copy of your identity card with your request. We may not be able to handle your request without this copy.

Right of correction

It may happen that some data that we have recorded about you is not (no longer) correct. You can ask to have that data corrected or completed at any time.

Right of erasure

If you suspect that we are unlawfully processing some of your personal details, you can request that this personal data is deleted.

Right of objection

If you do not agree with the way in which we process certain data, you can oppose this. We will grant this right of objection, unless there are compelling reasons not to do so.

Right of transferability of your data

You have the right to request that the personal data that you yourself have provided is transferred to you or directly to a third party.

The Regulation and other privacy legislation provides for several restrictions in this regard, as a result of which it does not apply to all data.

Cookie statement

As is commonplace with websites, this website makes use of 'cookies'. A cookie is a quantity of data that a website, via the server on which the website is hosted, transmits to the browser of the user, with the intention that this data should then be stored in the computer of the user. It is possible that a cookie may sometimes be sent/placed by a person or agency other than the person or agency responsible for the website (these are the so-called third party cookies).

The web server used by Basin Chemie nv registers the 'click-and-surf' behaviour of the user, in order to optimize the applications and the general use of the website. To do this, the website makes use of Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. ('Google'). Information generated by the cookie about the use of the website (including the IP-address of the user) is transferred to Google, which then stores the data on servers in the United States. Google uses this information to monitor and record how the user uses the website, on the basis of which it provides reports on website activity to the person or agency responsible for the website, as well as providing other services relating to website activity and internet use. Google is entitled to make this information available to other third parties if it is legally obliged to do so or to the extent that Google uses other third parties to process the data that has been collected. Google will not link the IP-address of the user with the other data that it also holds about the same user.

By the act of using this website, the user automatically accepts the cookies that the website contains. If desired, the user can change the browser settings, so that the cookies are no longer accepted.

The user can refuse to accept the use of cookies by changing the appropriate settings in his browser. Basin Chemie nv wishes to make the user aware that in this eventuality it may not be possible to make full use of all the possibilities offered by this website.
